A Dream Turns Into Action

Putting a dream into action is a monumental undertaking – especially when that dream is not just for yourself, but also for hundreds, hopefully thousands, of animals. That’s why we need your help on Giving Tuesday to officially launch Sound Home Animal Sanctuary!

Sound Home Sanctuary is several years in the making, but I also believe it’s been a lifetime in the making for me, as I have truly found my destiny and my purpose in animal rescue. It might sound cheesy, but saving animals has also saved me. I was unmoored and battling severe depression when I decided to go back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician, and as soon as I started down that path, I instantly recognized that this was what I was meant to do, and I never looked back. I was now a part of something much, much bigger than me. While working in animal medicine, I saw the overwhelming number of animals that needed support, a voice to advocate for them, and permanent homes, so I got busy fostering animals – and figuring out how to help further. 

Thus, my husband Ed and I started Sound Home Animal Sanctuary with the goal of helping animals live lives of soundness — receiving the love, care, and security that every pet deserves. We have fostered, housed, and placed in permanent homes more than 20 cats and other small animals over the past five years, and our official organization will allow us to do so much more. 

Sound Home Sanctuary is currently being fiscally sponsored by Ioby (with plans to soon become a standalone 501(c)(3)). We have an initial goal of $5,000, and today I invite you to contribute a tax-deductible donation for Giving Tuesday. Every dollar will help an animal in need – and help take a dream to the next level.
